The 2007 NAHN Conference was an overwhelming success. Nearly 300 NAHN members, Hispanic nurses, and healthcare professionals attended the event in Industry Hills, CA. NAHN members attended sessions on leadership, diabetes, bilingual care, children’s health, migrant worker healthcare, to name a few. One highlight of the conference was the Gala dinner on Friday night which featured dinner and dancing, scholarship and awards announcements, a speech by Congresswoman Grace Napolitano (D-CA) and a video greeting by Senator Hillary Clinton (D-NY).
The conference was an opportunity for Hispanic nurses to further their education by earning continuing education credits, network with nurses, and participate in leadership training events. President Tere Villot would like to offer a special thanks to all those who helped prepare for the conference and all who attended, specifically former NAHN Presidents and Board Members Antonia Villaruel, Carmen Portillo, Marilou De Leon Saintz, Rudy Valenzuela, Jeannette Marrero, and Helen Rueda.
The 2008 Annual Conference will be held in Boston, MA at the Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel, July 15-18.
The 2008 theme will be “Hispanic Nurses: Shaping the Future of Healthcare Across Communities.”
